As of August 1, 2024, our 100-year-old North Building (our exhibits and public programs building) is closed indefinitely due to outdated and faulty electrical and plumbing systems, HVAC, fire alarms, smoke detectors, and sprinkler systems. There is currently no plan to reopen the building. We are told by University of Arizona administrators that they are working to formulate a plan to move ASM people, collections, and public programs to alternate spaces. At this time, there are no details to share, nor a timeline. We will post updates when they become available to us.
